Our Story——Michael and His South Africa Customer
This customer is our old customer. He bought 3 sets of SL06036E from us last year. During this period, our sales staff Michael greeted him every 1 or 2 months. In April, the customer sent us an inquiry (10 kinds of bearings) on Whatsapp, and Michael checked online. The system queries the model, there are 5 types that we can supply, and Michael replied to the customer in detail. The content includes (model, size, and quantity that can be made) that the customer needs to confirm.
The customer's reply confirmation requires a total of 5 types of bearings and each model and size. Then we send the inquiry to our staff, so we get a quotation three days later and give the customer a quotation. The customer replied to accept the quotation, but it will take a while for his customer to confirm it. During this waiting period, Michael confirmed the destination port of shipment, calculated the freight, and reported to the customer. Waited halfway for nearly a month.
It takes a long time to reply to information, but the customer confirmed the order finally. And Michael's customer needs to pay a deposit to the customer. The customer had other purchase requirements for mechanical parts, but we only supply bearings at present. Customers hoped that we could have long-term cooperation, and if there were more bearing business, they will do it for our company. After receiving the products, the customer will personally go to the door to install and debug the bearings. Their business is mainly maintenance.
After 3 weeks, the customer confirms the proforma invoice and the customer arranges the payment. The request: Confirm the bearing picture (clear picture, with model identification) before shipment. During the period, we communicated and confirmed the precautions for delivery, including the port of destination and the air cargo receiving address.
Experience summary: It is necessary to confirm the delivery matters. The most important thing is that the consignee must have customs clearance qualifications when sending the goods to South Africa. It is possible to use the private name when the goods are shipped before, but the shipping must require the consignee to have customs clearance qualifications. The customer’s company is currently unable to clear customs independently. The customer found a local customs clearance agency in time and confirmed all relevant information (bill of lading consignee, address, contact information)
